When looking back on his time at Lees-McRae, Wiley Fisher has a lot of great memories. “I lived on back campus in McAlister Hall (now McMillan Hall). I enjoyed getting to know everyone on my floor and made some lasting friendships. Going to Rascals, skiing and campus life were always great times.”
It was not all fun and games while he was here. He attributes much of his current success to his time at Lees-McRae. “LMC gave me a great foundation and motivated me to be a better student. I started to discover who I really was, a process that I now know goes on throughout life, but it was being at Lees-McRae that provided me with this positive start. The professors helped build my confidence which helped me achieve my goals and an understanding that effort equals success.”
Wiley also has some advice for current Bobcats. “Coming from me and my college experience, this may sound funny, but study more! It will make such a difference. It's the same advice I give my kids!”
Giving back to Lees-McRae is something that Wiley feels is important. “I love LMC -- the memories, the friendships, the experiences. I hope those considering the college will get as much out of it as I did. I am proud of LMC and excited for its future. I have continued to be impressed with the College’s expansion and its progress.”
