Lees-McRae appoints Jon Driggers as Dean of Students

On Monday, August 5, Lees-McRae College appointed Jon Driggers as Dean of Students. Driggers most recently was the Associate Dean of Campus Life & New Student Programs at Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina.

Driggers comes to Lees-McRae with more than 14 years of student development experience. Having earned his master’s degree in College Student Development at nearby Appalachian State University, he also has a passion for the High Country which will serve him well in his new position.

“We are honored and blessed to welcome Jon [Driggers] to the Lees-McRae family,” said President Barry Buxton. “His extensive educational and professional background combined with his love for the mountains makes him a perfect choice for Lees-McRae, and his passion for supporting and assisting students will be invaluable. We are excited to see the impact he will make on our campus!”

As the Dean of Students, Driggers will, among other duties, oversee all Student Development personnel and functions, including Campus Life/Recreation, Counseling Services, Health Services, Student Housing, and the Student Recreation Center.
