Scholarship Auditions Information

All scholarship auditions are scheduled on Saturdays as follows:

2012

March 17 : BFA only audition requirements

April 21

During these Open House auditions, students who wish to be considered for a general performing arts scholarship must audition with the following:

  • 60-second fully memorized monologue
  • 1-2 songs prepared – the faculty will choose which song they want to hear (an accompanist is provided or you may use recorded accompaniment)
  • All will be taught a brief dance/movement sequence required of all auditionees
  • Headshot and resume preferred

Requirements for tech interview: portfolio if available, resume, references and a brief interview with one of our technical faculty.

Our scholarship audition dates are scheduled to coincide with Saturday college open houses. Please plan to attend one of these open houses and get the full welcome to LMC. We also encourage prospective students to visit on a weekday and attend classes. We can arrange for you to stay overnight with a Performing Arts student and attend one of our performances (when scheduled on an open house weekend). Auditions are conducted in our Performing Arts Studio Building (under the College Bookstore in the center of campus), beginning right after lunch, with time allowed for rehearsal with our pianist (for singers). We will begin with the movement combination and then move on into individual auditions. After the auditions we allow time for you and your family or guests to talk with the faculty about LMC and our program.

If you are unable to attend any of these audition dates, we will accept electronic submission of an audition package. Contact the either Dr. Tessa Carr (carrt@lmc.edu) or Dr. Michael Hannah (hannahm@lmc.edu) for more information about this option.
