Musical Theatre Audition and Scholarship Details

If you are interested in applying to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre program, an audition is required. For the audition, please prepare the following:

  • Two contrasting memorized songs from a musical, one ballad and one more up-tempo in style, one written before 1960 and one written since 1960.
  • Two monologues, one comic and one serious (provided by the faculty).
  • An application to the BFA program, including two recommendation letters from former teachers or theatre practitioners.
  • A resume and headshot

Students will be asked to learn a basic jazz-based dance combination during the audition. 

Performing Arts Scholarship

This BFA audition counts as a Performing Arts scholarship audition. These talent-based scholarships are valued between $1,000 and $5,000 and may be combined with other academic merit scholarships. Students should visit campus during an Open House or contact Dr. Michael Hannah at to schedule an audition.
