Many local organizations hosted booths at the REEL ROCK Film Tour at our event this past September
The REEL ROCK Film Tour, hosted by LMC Outdoor Programs and the LMC Competition Rock Climbing Team was a huge success. The students were excited and proud to provide this great event for the LMC community as well as participants from Banner Elk, Boone, and beyond. The films shown were the year’s best selection of adventure rock climbing films from all over the world. It was a fun gathering of people who love the outdoors and want to help protect the beautiful areas that we use for climbing.

Mike Grimm, from Misty Mountain Threadworks, donated the money from the sales of his harnesses at the REEL ROCK Film Tour to the Carolina Climbers Coalition. LMC Outdoor Programs utilize Misty Mountain harnesses for all of our climbing wall and outside rock climbing programs, and our students had the opportunity to purchase these harnesses at a discounted rate at this fun event.

Meagan Kelly, Tyler Lucas, and Walter Ford present Scott Gilliam, from the Carolina Climbers Coalition with a check for $850.00. The funds were raised for this non-profit organization that provides education and support for those who want to protect and take care of our beautiful rock climbing sites.

LMC students enjoy a challenging hike high above the Blue Ridge Parkway.
