Delta Omicron Theta, a newly formed service-based sorority at Lees-McRae College, has started off their organization with energy and dedication.
During the last year, Delta Omicron Theta, an organization that traces its roots to the Sullivanian Society, a sorority active at Lees-McRae from 1934-1989, has organized and participated in community service projects all over campus and the surrounding community.
From Relay for Life and a Sadie Hawkins Dance for Cancer to a Car Wash for To Them, To Us (a suicide prevention and awareness organization), the sisters of Delta Omicron Theta have hit the ground running.
The women also hosted an Alumni Luncheon in April to honor past members of the Sullivanian Society. New members and alumni shared stories and experiences and made memories and connections that bonded sisters past and present.
To keep the ball rolling after their energetic debut, the women of Delta Omicron Theta have big plans for the upcoming year. Projects with Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society and a fall festival are all in the works, as well as Fall Rush for those who want to join the service organization.
Although the sorority is a new organization at Lees-McRae, it has certainly started making its mark on campus and in the community. One thing is for sure – there is much more to come from the sisters of Delta Omicron Theta.
