Cost and Financial Aid

All full-time distance learning students are charged the same tuition rate as main campus students and are then awarded a generous gift aid package per academic year. This grant aid is a combination of institutional, state, and federal aid (this includes Federal Pell Grant and NC Need Based Scholarship, if applicable).

All distance learning students must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine any federal or state need based aid eligibility, including Federal Direct Loans. Please file the 2017-2018 FAFSA on-line at www.fafsa.gov using your 2015 Federal Income Tax Returns and W-2s. It is in your best interest to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to import your financial information directly from the IRS. The 2017-18 FAFSA is available after October 1, 2016. Make sure that you include the Lees-McRae school code of 002939.

Traditionally, students borrow from the Direct Loan program to meet their out-of-pocket costs. Lees-McRae College also offers students the convenience of paying their semester expenses on a monthly basis as an alternative to traditional lump sum payments. This service is provided through Higher Education Services, Inc. (HES).
