Sophos Anti-Virus Installation Instructions

1. PRE-REQUISITES: (Things you MUST do before installing Sophos)

  • Uninstall all other antivirus programs
    (use the Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs

  • Be using a Windows PC (No Apple or Linux machines) 

2.  Using Internet Explorer Click here to begin

3.  Choose Run

4.  Choose "Run" again

5.  Click “Install”

6.  Click “Next”

7.  Click the button to accept license terms and choose next.

8.  Click “next” to accept default path for the program.




9.  Now we will need to enter the server address http://swdeploy.lmc.edu/sophos/esxp as it is in the picture below. 

10. Now we will need to enter your college username and password as shown below.  This is the username and password you use to get into your college email.  Once this information has been entered click “Next" to go on. 



11.  Choose “Next”

12.  Now choose “Finish” and you have anti-virus installed.  This anti-virus will work as long as you are enrolled as a student.  (note: let your machine sit for about 5 minutes after the installation before you try to register your computer)
