Come one and all to join the High Country Theatre League in a celebration of the 450th birthday of the great William Shakespeare! The scenic mountains of North Carolina’s Lees-McRae College will host this FREE demo that includes armored fighting, rapier fighting, period games, A&S classes and an artisan’s row to display all talents.

Arts & Sciences Activities/Competitions

All Arts and Sciences competitions are open to SCAdians as well as all LMC students and employees.  Documentation is not required, but encouraged for SCAdians.  All entries should be historically accurate (period) to the Elizabethan Era (1600 AD) or before.

Period Poetry Contest: Originally written poem or sonnet written in iambic pentameter

Performing Arts Contest: A performance of period Music (solo or ensemble instrumental, vocal, combined vocal/instrumental), Spoken (solo or ensemble monologues, readings, skits or stories), Dance (solo or ensemble country, court or ethnic dance), Other (period mime, juggling, etc.). 5 minute time limit

Costume/Garb Contest: Historically correct clothing

Period Drawing: Period style drawing or painting

Artisan's Row will be for any and all static and live demonstration Arts & Sciences.  Please contact Event Steward or A&S Coordinator for space and needs.


Restrictions

No fire or live steel.
Pets must be leashed and picked up after.
The campus is tobacco free.
