Smart phone email setup

IPhone/iPod/iPad setup:

  1. Set up a new mail account, selecting Exchange as in the photo above.
  2. Enter your email address (e.g. “it0000123@lmc.edu”) in the Email box.
  3. Enter your Exchange username in the Username box
  4. It will sometimes ask for the domain name separately – if so enter “lmc.edu”
  5. Enter your password (e.g. “test1234”) in the Password box.
  6. The iPhone/iPod/iPad will now try to automatically discover your Exchange server. When it asks for the server information enter “exch2k7.lmc.edu”
  7. It will then ask what functions you want to sync.
  8. Next press the home button and you are done.

Blackberry Setup

  1. Go into email setup
  2. Select “other”
  3. Click Next. Then select “Outlook web access”
    • Enter your email address ie. “(username)@lmc.edu”
    • Enter https://exch2k7.lmc.edu/owa in the Outlook Web Access URL: box.
    • Enter your username “leemcrae\(username)” box.
    • Enter your password in the Password: box. (This is the password you use to log in to your Exchange email account.)
    • Mailbox name: enter just your username again.
  4. Click Next.
  5. You will receive the message, You have successfully configured access to: (username)@lmc.edu. Click OK.

Your Blackberry is now configured to send and receive email using your Exchange email account.

  • It may take up to 20 minutes before you begin receiving email on your Blackberry.
  • You should be able to send email immediately.

Important Information About Meeting Invites

If you accept a meeting invite on your Blackberry, the following events will occur:

  • A response is sent to the meeting coordinator indicating that you have accepted the meeting.
  • Your Blackberry calendar is updated with the meeting.
  • Your Exchange calendar is not updated with the meeting.

To avoid confusion, we recommend that you do not interact with meeting invites on a Blackberry configured with the instructions above. Instead, use Outlook, Entourage, or OWA to accept and decline meeting invites.

Android Setup

  1. Touch Email.
  2. Enter the exchange email address and password then touch Next.
  1. Touch Exchange account.
  2. Enter the exchange server settings in the appropriate fields:
    • “leemcrae\(username)”
    • password
    • exch2k7.lmc.edu
  3. Use secure connection (SSL) and Accept all SSL certificates are checked then click Next.
