Scholarships & Financial Aid
We all worry about cost. That’s why Lees-McRae College has launched a groundbreaking tuition guarantee program for students. This program is designed to ensure affordability while helping you plan your school expenses.
Lees-McRae College is one of the most affordable private colleges, with tuition costs 10 percent less than other private institutions in North Carolina. In addition, the College awards $14 million annually in institutional scholarships and grants and helps facilitate more than $25 million in financial aid. That equates to an average Lees-McRae scholarship of $12,471 and an average financial aid package of $22,736.
Financial Aid Timeline
The process of applying for financial aid can be overwhelming the first time. We realize this and would like to assure you that we can help you through the process. The most important step is to be familiar with the FAFSA Application (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is completed online at www.fafsa.gov and will serve as your application for all federal, state and institutional financial aid. Your FAFSA will be processed by the federal government, shared with the state governments and then forwarded to the colleges you list on the application.
Lees-McRae College should be listed on your FAFSA along with our school code of 002939. The LMC priority filing deadline is April 15. Once Lees-McRae College receives the results of your FAFSA, your individual file will be reviewed and a financial aid package prepared specifically for you.
Packaging usually begins by March 1st of each year and continues on a rolling basis throughout the summer. After reviewing the package, you have the opportunity to accept or reject each individual type of assistance being offered. Below is a timeline that will help keep you on task as you progress through the next several months.
