Welcome to the History Website

The ProgramThe history major provides a study of the diverse institutions and cultures that comprise United States history while introducing world and regional histories that survey the political, social, and cultural developments that are international in scope.  The major provides a value-based approach to history with particular emphasis on the study of Judaeo-Christian values that provide the foundation of Western Civilization.  The study of history teaches special techniques in research, analysis, writing, and communicative skills that are essential for many professions.

  Quotes

“In history you have a record of the infinite variety of human experience plainly set out for all to see; and in that record you can find for yourself and your country both examples and warnings; fine things to take as models, base things, rotten through and through, to avoid.”
                                         —Livy
