On behalf of the
Session and members of the Banner Elk Presbyterian Church I want to
welcome you to Lees-McRae College. I hope that your move and transition
has been smooth and without incident. Below you will find a description
of some of our activities and programs with the college. I hope you
will feel welcome to any and all events that we offer.

WORSHIP: Our
worship services begin each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. From June through
September we also offer an early service at 8:30 a.m. The sacrament of
communion is offered the first Sunday of each month.
BIBLE STUDY: Each Monday evening
at 7:00 p.m. we offer a Bible Study for the students of Lees-McRae
College in the lobby of Virginia Hall. This is a great chance to meet
other students while discussing the Bible and how it applies to your
life as a young adult.
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES:
This year marks the 2nd year that Fellowship of Christian
Athletes will be meeting at Lees-McRae College. FCA meets each Tuesday
evening at 8:00 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall. You can enter the
Fellowship Hall from the parking lot in back of the church through the
door closest to the water tower. Not an athlete? FCA is open to all
students.
SHUTTLE: Knowing that many
students do not have transportation we realize that simple things such
as buying groceries can be difficult. This year we will be offering a
shuttle to Food Lion every Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. If you want to
make a grocery run, meet in the parking lot across from the water
tower. If you need to/want to go to the store but are unable to make
this time, please come by the church office, or call me at the number
below, and we will assist you in your endeavor!
PASTORAL CARE: As a church, Banner
Elk Presbyterian Church is here to assist you in your education and life
at Lees-McRae College. I am available to assist with problems, or
simply talk, whenever you feel the need. I work closely with the
college chaplain, the Rev. Kathy Campbell, and am eager to help however
I can. Feel free to drop by the office anytime. I am in the office
Monday’s through Thursday’s. I am also available by appointment and by

SPAGHETTI DINNER: Twice a year, on
the Friday night before exams begin in the fall and spring semester, we
offer a free Spaghetti Dinner for all students, faculty, and staff of
Lees-McRae College. Dinner is served from around 9:30 p.m. until 12:00
a.m. Don’t forget the wonderful deserts!
