Steps to Admission

To be considered for admission to the Master of Arts in Teaching program, please submit:

  1. Completed application
  2. Official college transcripts from all institutions attended* (verification of bachelor’s degree)
  3. Three letters of recommendation
  4. Statement of purpose sharing your disposition for teaching and your current teaching philosophy
  5. Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test scores (no more than five years old) 
  6. Application fee of $75** (pay here)

Acceptance to the program will require a clean background check. 

*A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required. If below a 2.75 please provide justification in your statement of purpose. 
**Online payments are accepted by e-check, MasterCard, VISA, Discover and American Express. A service fee of 2.7% is applied to all credit/debit card transactions. E-check/ACH transactions can be made with no service fee.

If there are special circumstances to consider regarding your academic and/or personal background, please submit a brief essay with an explanation. In addition, academic recommendations or an interview may be required.

Once your file is complete, you will be notified of your admission decision within two weeks.

We will officially get you started through our personalized orientation (required). Critical information regarding important benchmarks, observations, and student teaching placements will be discussed.
