Housing Selection Process

The information below is for returning Lees-McRae students. Incoming students will receive information regarding housing from the Office of Admission.

Housing Selection for Fall 2022 (Returning Students Only)

The Fall 2022 housing selection lottery will begin Monday, April 18 and continue through Thursday, April 28

To ensure all students have the chance to see what rooms are available and to request roommates, students will be asked to make an in-person appointment with the Office of Student Affairs. Registration links will be sent directly to students a couple of days in advance of their eligible registration period. Appointment times will be available 7 a.m.–6 p.m. in the Student Affairs Conference Room on the days listed below.

Students that are requesting to room together must attend the same appointment. If the students are of different academic years, they should attend the earliest possible appointment. Because housing space is limited, there is no guarantee that students will receive the exact room requested. Students must also have paid their $50 non-refundable housing deposit due April 1 before participating in the lottery. Students wishing to participate that have not paid the housing deposit may pay no later than Sunday, April 17. Priority will be given to those who paid on time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process for selecting a new room?

Students will have a list of available rooms to choose from. When their lottery number is active, students will proceed with their selection based on available spaces.

    How are lottery numbers determined?

Lottery numbers are randomized within class status, beginning with rising seniors having priority numbers.

Can I reserve a private room (a room meant for two people, but you are paying extra to keep the room to yourself)?

At this time, we cannot reserve private rooms. If space becomes available, we will open the option for private rooms after housing selection is completed.

I am struggling to find a roommate to go with me to a new room. What do I do?

If you are struggling to find a roommate, please reach out to the Office of Student Affairs. The lottery process will require spaces be filled to capacity. A roommate may be assigned if one is not previously selected.

If I have questions that are not addressed above, who can I speak with?

Reach out to the Office of Student Affairs and your questions will be addressed promptly.
