Institutional Service and Responsibilities

I serve on the General Education Committee, the Early Intervention Team, and the Provost's Council. I am responsible for the daily management of Peer Academic Mentors in the Burton Center for Student Success. Other areas that fall within Student Success include the curriculum for Foundations courses, all aspects of the First-Year Experience, the Ratchford Writing Center, and our Persistence and Completion Program–a campus-wide initiative to help students persist through their anticipated four years at Lees-McRae.

Professional Achievements

My educational background is in teaching college writing courses and mentoring others to teach these courses. My practical experience is administrative. I enjoy solving the problems that program development provides.

Personal Interests

I am a problem-solver, and I enjoy learning. Whether I'm discussing an upcoming project with a colleague, learning strategies with a student, or teaching, my primary goal is to learn about the people I'm working with. The more I know, the better I can help.

Being admitted to a college is only the first step. Working with programs intended to support student success isn't just smart, it's what the smartest students do–all the time.
