Scholarly and Professional Achievements
My main area of research is in Poetics and Hebrew Bible. I also teach courses in ethics and film. I am professionally affiliated with the American Academy of Religion, the Catholic Biblical Association, and the Society of Biblical Literature. Throughout my career, I have published numerous books and articles covering my Biblical research, including the forthcoming "Judges and the Contours of Speech."
Institutional Service and Responsibilities
I am the director of the Honors Program. We currently have more than 100 students in the program, and I teach one of the honors courses. We travel each semester for a learning experience that takes us beyond the classroom, and I am privileged to teach and direct such extraordinary students at Lees-McRae.
Personal Interests
In addition to my work as a Humanities professor and honors program director, I enjoy competing in United States Tennis Association tournaments. I also admire the unique genius of Ludwig van Beethoven, and I play a few of his piano sonatas. I gave a short piano recital at the college a few years back.
