Personal Interests

Every success story is a tale of constant adaptation, revision, and change – Richard Branson

Where I began to where I am now was a journey full of ups, downs, and even do-overs. With each passing year, I am learning what my goals and dreams are for the future; constantly evolving to try to become the best version of myself. I began my college journey one place and transferred to another. I have lived and visited places all over the globe. However, it has been fifteen years since I moved to the mountains of North Carolina, and I have never wanted to leave.

What I love most about living in the mountains is the opportunity of enjoying all four seasons: the leaves in fall, snow in winter, and the warmth of spring and summer minus the humidity (and mosquitoes!).

Banner Elk is one of the few places in the Southeast that you can ski, hike, and hang out on the lake without having to travel far from home—and if you ever get the itch for city life, you have Charlotte and Asheville in driving distance!

Outside of work, I spend time with my family playing games, going to college athletic events, exploring the outdoors, and attending festivals held throughout WNC! There is so much to do and see in WNC that I don’t think I’ll ever run out of new experiences!

Transferring is simple, but the thought can be overwhelming and the process foreign. I hope with my personal experience, I can help prospective students make the transition easily. Lees-McRae College is a wonderful place with faculty and staff who genuinely care about you and want to help you succeed.
