Professional Achievements

Most of my research has focused on speciation and adaptive radiation in birds, especially seed-eating birds known as crossbills. I am currently developing several projects on ecological aspects of adaptation, diversification, and coexistence in warblers of the southeast. I am increasingly interested in plant-insect interactions and the evolution of host plant specialization.

Students interested in doing research in any of the areas I study are encouraged to contact me.
