Edward E. Roberts, MA, a strong professional with over 25 years of resource and fundraising development experience within various not-for-profit organizations was named Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Lees-McRae College in November, 2018.  With a prior four year engagement with Hampden-Sydney College as a major gifts officer, eight year engagement as a field executive with the Boy Scouts of America (where he was named among the top executives in the southern region), and a 10 year engagement with Feeding America (America’s national food bank network) as a successful fundraiser and lobbyist, Roberts’ experience and responsibilities have included deep brand building, resources development, fundraising, capital campaigns, team leadership, and political advocacy resulting in consistent  growth for the organizations he has served. Being a first-generation college graduate from the southern Appalachia region, he deeply identifies with the mission of Lees-McRae Collage as a “school of opportunity.”

Moving forward, his responsibilities include providing leadership to the Office of Institutional Advancement focusing on the areas of long-term growth in funding and partnership development centered on major gifts, donor relations, outreach to the corporate community, grant development, and planned giving within a team management setting, all to support the vital mission of Lees-McRae College.

Roberts received his Masters of Organization and Community Leadership from Emory and Henry College and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Carson-Newman College.
