Scholarly and Professional Achievements

Dr. Wilson's research interests focus on pedagogy and technology in Sport Management education.

He also serves as a Master Reviewer and Chair for Quality Matters-an organization focused on best practices in online and hybrid education.

For over 16 years, he has been a faculty member in Sport Management. His professional experience includes several posts in college athletics, including stops at Cal and Stanford. LMC marks the 15th college/university at which he has been either a student, staff member, or faculty member. He has coached volleyball for over 20 years and has coached at all collegiate levels, NCAA I, II, III, NAIA, and the NJCAA, in addition to coaching/leading several juniors clubs. He has also been a CAP instructor for USA Volleyball in coaching education.

Personal Interests

Do what you love - Dr. Wilson is doing what he loves: teaching and prepping students for careers in the sport industry. If a student loves sport, this may indeed be the best major for him/her in college and a great career choice.

In his spare time, Dr. Wilson enjoys bass fishing, boardgaming (euro games), pc gaming, backpacking, climbing, longboarding, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Wilson is married to Melodia Torres Wilson, and the couple have 3 kids: Wil, McKinley, and Izzabelle. They reside in Montezuma, NC.
