Whooo Makes It Happen Nina Fischesser, Director of BRWI
Nina is the Director of the Blue Ridge Wildlife Institute and serves as the President of the Institute's Board of Directors. Nina has been rehabilitating wildlife since 1989, but her passion for animals dates baack to her childhood. She serves as the guiding force behind the mission of the Institute! She received her rehabilitation training from the Carolina Raptor Center, the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association, the International & National Wildlife Rehabilitators Council, veterinarians, and local experts on wildlife. Nina has a Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation and served 11-years as a field instructor with the North Carolina Outward Bound School. Presently, Nina is serving as the President of the Wildlife Rehabilitators of North Carolina (WRNC). She is a member of the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association and is currently serving on the National Symposium planning committee. Nina is a board member and organizational affiliate of The Carolina Kids Conservancy, and The New River Earth Institute. Interns & Volunteers Interns and volunteers are the backbone of the Blue Ridge Wildlife Institute's summer internship and educational programs. Each summer students from various colleges come to the Institute for a hands-on learning experience and assist in the daily operations of the Institute and its Rehabilitation of Wildlife.
