Point Out Your Worst Habit That Effects Your Health
Jump-start a month of wellness by vowing to conquer your worst health habit. Need a hint? Some of the biggies are smoking, skipping your workouts, drinking a lot of beer, eating junk and skimping on sleep, says Rick Kellerman, M.D., chairman of the board of directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians in Leawood, Kansas. Once you've pinpointed your biggest bad habit, research ways to kick it.

Healthy Eating Hints

  • Do not watch TV, talk on the phone or read while you eat

  • Use smaller plates and the food will look like a larger serving

  • Don't set serving dishes on the table; serve from the stove or refrigerator.

  • Ditch the "clean-plate-club." If you are full - stop eating!

  • Keep your consumption of caffeinated beverages to a minimum. Caffeine can stimulate your appetite.
