Thanks for registering for a campus tour!

We can’t wait to see you! During your visit, you and your family will have the opportunity to meet with an admissions counselor and take a walk through the classroom and residence buildings on campus. The visit will last approximately an hour and a half.

Please wear a face mask and comfortable walking shoes for your tour. We also recommend checking the weather forecast before your arrival, as weather in Banner Elk can significantly differ from surrounding areas.

Please be aware that Lees-McRae College takes the health and wellbeing of all of our visitors very seriously. The State of North Carolina, Avery County, and the town of Banner Elk are now in the reopening phases. To keep you and your family safe as the COVID-19 virus still has the potential to circulate, we have instituted the following guidelines:

For you:

  • North Carolina now requires face masks to be worn in public. If you do not have a face mask, we have a disposable one for you.
  • Please limit your group to no more than four people, including the prospective student.
  • If you or any member of your family feel sick prior to your visit to our campus, please reschedule.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at various stations throughout campus.

For our staff:

  • A member of our admissions staff will wear a face mask while interacting with you and your family.
  • During your visit, our staff member will maintain proper social distancing of at least 6 feet away from you and your family, when applicable.
  • While we would love to shake your hands upon arrival and departure from our campus, our staff will be unable to do so until further notice.

For campus facilities:

With the aid of social distancing and sanitizer stations, we will be able to show you the vast majority of our 465-acre campus, including classrooms and residence halls. For the safety of our clinical students and their wildlife patients, the only interior facility that we will not be able to show you is the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
