Swing! The Musical; FREE
for all Military Personnel
Decades may have passed since the Greatest
Generation swing, swang, and swung their way through the 1940s, but the
soul of the Swing generation comes alive again this spring at Lees-McRae
College. This April, the
Division of Performing Arts will mount
Swing! The Musical, a musical
revue of the greatest big band hits of the World War II era.
You may remember such classics as “I’ll Be Seeing You”, “Blues in
the Night”, and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”. These are just a few of the
jazz classics that the show revues.
Usually performed with a loose plot and established
characters, the Division of Performing Arts is taking a new turn with
the show, this time each song has a life of its own.
There are no defined characters, no spoken lines, and no plot.
The show moves from one memorable jazz tune to the next.
As a tribute to the World War II generation, The
Division of Performing Arts is welcoming all Veterans and current
military personnel to come to the show in uniform.
However, with or without the uniform all current military and
veterans may see Swing! The
Musical free of charge.
Swing! The Musical
will be performed in Hayes Auditorium on the campus of Lees-McRae
College in Banner Elk, NC.
Tickets are general admission and are available at the door; box office
opens an hour before show time – plenty seating is available.
General Admission Tickets are $12 for Adults and $5 for Students;
any student ID accepted.
Admission is free to all Military Veterans or current Military, and the
Faculty, Staff and Students of Lees-McRae College with an appropriate
college ID. Show times are
Wednesday, April 2 – Saturday, April 5 at 7:30p.m. and Sunday, April 6
at 2p.m. For

· Please plan to buy your tickets at Hayes Auditorium's
door on the night of
the performance - All Tickets are General Admission.
· Plenty seating is
available.
· Tickets are $12.00 adults and $5.00 for students/children during the
academic school year (all school IDs will be accepted).
· Admission is free to
all Military Veterans or current Military, and the Faculty, Staff and
Students of Lees-McRae College with an appropriate college ID.
· Online tickets are not available during the academic year.
