Feedback from Survey Administrator:
I was very interested to find that 48% of respondents would prefer registering for classes themselves online. In fact, the new administrative computing system at Lees-McRae does have the capacity to handle web registration, and my office will be pursuing it as quickly as we are able, especially based on these results.
I doubt if one-on-one personal registration will ever disappear at LMC, though, particularly since 32% of respondents still like the idea of working with “real people,” and another 16% would prefer to use web registration in cooperation with their advisors.
Personal contact is one of the hallmarks of a
Lees-McRae education, so I would see the development of self web
registration as an optional service in the future. Don’t get your
hopes up for an instant changeover, though. It may take several
semesters to phase the system in once we begin, but we’re on it
