Two examples of successful service-learning initiatives on the LMC campus:

• Spanish Professor, Rachel McClure and her Intermediate Spanish Class volunteered over 1200 hours using their Spanish skills to teach ESL to migrant workers from Avery County

• Physical Education majors organized in the fall and spring Kindersport programs held for over local children.

The community outreach center can assist LMC faculty with the planning and implementation of service-learning.
