May School of Nursing and Health Sciences ranked among best in North Carolina

Among prestigious colleges both across the nation and in North Carolina, the Lees-McRae May School of Nursing and Health Sciences (MSNHS) was named one of the best.

A website that focuses on U.S. nursing schools and programs, the annual ranking by Nursing Schools Almanac, listed Lees-McRae in the top 40 institutions who offer nursing programming in North Carolina.

“For our 2018 ranking, the research team at Nursing Schools Almanac collected data on over 3,000 nursing schools and campuses throughout the U.S.,” according to the Nursing Schools Almanac website. “Less than 25 percent of those colleges made the final cut.”

When reviewing each institution prior to ranking, the team considered the college’s academic prestige and perceived value, the breadth and depth of nursing programs offered, and student success with a focus on NCLEX national licensure exam scores, according to the company.

Lees-McRae landed among colleges such as Appalachian State University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and East Carolina University.

The MSNHS offers programs including: Nursing (pre-licensure), Emergency Medical Services and Management, as well as Health and Wellness Science. For online students who may already be in the field of nursing, but want to complete their degree, the MSNHS also offers a RN to BSN program.
