Lees-McRae and Brunswick Community College institute Guaranteed Admission Program
Lees-McRae College and Brunswick Community College have entered into a new partnership that establishes their first overall Guaranteed Admission Program for any Brunswick student who wishes to transfer to Lees-McRae and earn their bachelor’s degree. While the two schools have had several program-to-program articulation agreements in the past, this is the first time that every Lees-McRae academic program, both main campus and online degree options, will be included.
“Our recent partnership with Lees-McRae College in the form of a Guaranteed Admissions Program and articulation agreements will certainly broaden the opportunities for our Brunswick Community College students as they choose their next institution of higher education,” said Lois H. Smith, executive vice president and chief academic officer for Brunswick. “We are very excited that our students will have a pathway to complete their bachelor’s degree at such a remarkable institution with a unique mix of programs of study, a student-friendly atmosphere, and very high academic standards.”
The new partnership also features increased academic scholarships for all Brunswick students. The increased scholarships can be up to and including 60 percent off of tuition for Lees-McRae. In addition, Brunswick students who enter into a Lees-McRae degree completion program online will receive a tuition discount of $30 per credit hour. Further discounts of up to $20 per credit hour are also available to law enforcement personnel, sworn police officers, registered nurses, healthcare personnel, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members.
“We are excited to again partner with Brunswick Community College,” said Kevin Phillips, vice president for enrollment management at Lees-McRae. “Many of our academic programs are unique, and Brunswick students will be able to take advantage of our increased scholarships and tuition discounts. This new Guaranteed Admission Program between Brunswick and Lees-McRae opens up so many new possibilities for Brunswick students wishing to move on and complete their bachelor’s degree.”
In addition, the agreement between the two schools will update existing program-to-program articulation agreements for the Criminal Justice and Business Administration online degrees and add a new one for Brunswick’s Accounting and Finance students to seamlessly transition to the Lees-McRae online Business Administration program. Future articulation agreements will be discussed over the next few months. With exciting new academic programs in areas such as Exercise Science, Nutrition Science, Pre-Physical Therapy, Outdoor Recreation Management, Ski Industry Business, and Wilderness Medicine, Lees-McRae can offer students limitless possibilities to complete their education.
