“100 Days Until Graduation” event will celebrate and provide support for seniors

Members of the 2021 graduating class are invited to participate in a countdown to graduation on Thursday, Jan. 28. The event, which is the first of its kind to be hosted by Lees-McRae, will help seniors make connections and prepare for life after college.

“We wanted to create a professional way to honor the Lees-McRae seniors’ transition from students to alumni,” said Katie Talbert, the director of alumni relations. “This represents the first step to their life after college, and shines a light on the opportunities available to assist them in their final 100 days.”

Seniors can visit booths with information about campus resources like Career and Life Planning, alumni networking, philanthropy opportunities, and the Bobcat Mentor program. Everyone can take pictures with Wily and enter a raffle to win a Lees-McRae spirit package, and the first 50 people to register will also receive a branded tablet sleeve and a professional headshot.

The event will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28 in Evans Auditorium, located in the Cannon Student Center. Students can sign up for an hour-long timeslot at either 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. COVID-19 safety measures such as mask wearing and social distancing will be enforced.
