Online Human Services degree chosen as top pick by Intelligent.com

Lees-McRae appeared on a total of six Intelligent.com lists ranking the best colleges and programs in the country for 2022.  

According to the rankings, Lees-McRae offers the most transfer-friendly Human Services degree, as well as the best Human Services program in general. The college also made the list of best online colleges in North Carolina, best colleges in North Carolina overall, best receiving special recognition for the online Criminal Justice program, and best online and main campus Nursing programs.  

To compile the lists, Intelligent.com implements a unique methodology that ranks each program on a scale from 0 to 100 across five categories. The scoring system compares each university according to program strength, student readiness, return on investment, cost, and student engagement. Researchers compared 704 programs from 2,900 universities and colleges across the United States. 

Intelligent.com reports that human services professionals are in high demand and that the median annual wage for social workers is $10,000 higher than the median U.S. worker salary. The online Human Services program at Lees-McRae enables professionals who have earned an associate degree to build on their previous coursework and experience and take advantage of this growing field. The curriculum combines elements of psychology, social work, and criminal justice studies, preparing students for successful employment in a wide variety of human services-related occupations.
