Audition and Scholarship Details

If you are a potential Theatre Arts, Theatre Arts Education, or Theatre Arts Administration major, we offer scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 that require an audition or interview. Scholarships are talent-based and offered to students interested in all areas of the Theatre Arts at Lees-McRae. Performance based merit scholarships may be combined with other academic merit scholarships. Students should visit campus during an Open House (where you can receive a theatre arts specific tour!) or contact Joshua Yoder at yoderj@lmc.edu to schedule an audition.

Auditions

For auditions, students should prepare for the following:

  • All students will complete two contrasting memorized monologues
  • If you're a vocalist, prepare two songs of contrasting styles (you may bring sheet music for the provided accompanist)
  • All students will be asked to learn a brief pedestrian movement combination during the audition

For a technical interview, please bring a portfolio and a resume.
