Escape to Lees-McRae College this summer for fun with alumni, family, and friends!



Thursday, July 11
- 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Check-In: Alumni House
- 9:30–11:30 a.m. Service Project with Feeding Avery Families: Newland
Volunteers assist with unloading the trucks and staging products for distribution to clients. While lifting is required for moving some products, there are plenty of “light duty” tasks such as placing products on shelves and packing bulk produce into individual bags. - 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Class Agent Training Session
- 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Lunch: MacDonald Dining Hall
- 1 p.m.–1:30 p.m. Wildlife Presentation at the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
- 3–5 p.m. Grandfather Vineyard and Winery Tour and Tasting: Banner Elk ($5 fee)
- 5–6:30 p.m. Dinner: MacDonald Dining Hall
- 6:30–8 p.m. Concert in the Park: Tate-Evans Park
- 7–9 p.m. Summer Theatre presents From the Mountaintop: The Edgar Tufts Story: Hayes Auditorium (purchase tickets online)
Friday, July 12

- 8:30–11 a.m. Service Project with Feeding Avery Families: Newland
Volunteers serve as receptionists, guides, stockers, loaders, floaters, and team leaders to assist clients as they shop for the items - 9:30–10:30 a.m. Morning Walk Group: Alumni House
- 10:30–11:30 a.m. Book Talk: Southern Potpourri with Becky Ikerd McRee ’63
- 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Lunch: MacDonald Dining Hall

In conjunction with the From the Mountaintop: The Edgar Tufts Story performances, free historic walking tours in Banner Elk are offered Thursday, July 11 through Saturday, July 13 at 12:30 and 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, July 14 at 12:30 p.m. Learn more at www.bannerelk.com/heritage-celebration.
Lodging and Meals
On campus housing includes a meal package—lunch, dinner, and breakfast the following morning—for all guests. Lodging is available in McMillan Residence Hall and Hemlock Village (other residence halls cannot be accommodated at this time).
- Adults (ages 12+) are $50 per person/per night
- Children (ages 3–11) are $25 per person/per night
- Infants (ages 0–2) are free
Check-In/Check-Out
Check in on your arrival date from 3–5 p.m. at the Alumni House. Check out on your departure date by 10 a.m. at the Alumni House. On Thursday, July 11, check in will be available from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
