Schedule of Events

FRIDAY, APRIL 1

Tour of Campus
4–5 p.m.
Alumni House
Join a student ambassador for a tour of the campus! If you haven’t been back in a few years, you won’t want to miss connecting with a current student and seeing the exciting things happening at Lees-McRae from The Summit dining hall and Student Recreation Center to the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. 

Block Party
5–9 p.m.
Swank Park
The festivities will kick off with a Block Party right in the heart of campus. We’re blocking off College Drive and inviting all members of the Lees-McRae family to Swank Park for an evening of music, food, and fun! 

Welcome Back Party
8 p.m. 
Banner Elk Cafe and Lodge
Alumni, this one’s for you. Stop by the Bobcat-owned Banner Elk Café to grab a drink and listen to live music while reconnecting with other graduates. 


SATURDAY, APRIL 2

Bobcat Yoga
10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Avery Community Yoga at the Historic Banner Elk School
Join Bobcat alumna Jenna Stone at her Bobcat-owned business for a morning flow to jump-start the day’s activities! 
Register for a class: 10 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.

Tailgate Check-in Opens
10:30 a.m. 
Tate Field at the Dickerson Athletic Complex
Come set up your pre-reserved spot at Tate Field and enjoy a day full of Bobcat Athletics! Interested in getting a spot? Reserve your spot on March 4. See the information below or contact Katie Talbert at talbertk@lmc.edu with questions.

Brunch with Bobcats (alumni only)
9–11 a.m.
Needham Alumni House
Join fellow Bobcats for a drop-in brunch at the Needham Alumni House before heading over to cheer on the student-athletes. Meet the newest graduates, flip through decades of yearbooks, and celebrate a beautiful spring morning with your classmates in Banner Elk! 

Food Trucks
11 a.m.–5 p.m.
Dickerson Athletic Complex 
Grab a bite to eat between games at one of the food trucks that will be parked next to Williams Gymnasium.

Softball vs. Barton
Noon and 2 p.m.
Bobcat Field at the Dickerson Athletic Complex
Support our softball team as they take on Barton in a thrilling double header.  

Women's Lacrosse vs. Chowan
Noon
Tate Field at the Dickerson Athletic Complex
Cheer on the women's lacrosse team as they take the pitch against the Chowan Hawks. 

Men's Volleyball vs. King
2 p.m.
Williams Gymnasium at the Dickerson Athletic Complex
Fill the gym in support of the men's volleyball team as they take on the King Tornado. 

Men's Lacrosse vs. Barton
3 p.m.
Tate Field at the Dickerson Athletic Complex
Following the women's game, the men will take on the Barton Bulldogs. 

Alumni Social

Blind Elk Tap Room
Close out a successful weekend at one of the newest establishments in Banner Elk. Enjoy a drink and the atmosphere as you say goodbye to Homecoming 2021 and start looking forward to Homecoming 2022 this Fall. 

F3T Fly Fishing Film Tour
8 p.m.
Tate-Evans Park (Banner Elk Town Park)
The Fly Fishing Film Tour is the largest fly fishing film event of its kind. Come for the action and stay for the giveaways and camaraderie—from your local fly shop to a community of like-minded anglers as we aim to inspire, feed your fishing addiction, and build awareness for conservation efforts both near and far. Hosted and sponsored by Lees-McRae Outdoor Programs, the Fly Fishing Club, and the Outdoor Recreation Management program.

Tailgating

Homecoming tailgate registration opens March 4 at 12:01 a.m. Claim your spot for a front row seat to watch the men's and women's lacrosse matches. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Bobcat fans can reserve a tailgate space in one of three sections (see map). The cost for a space in section A is $50 and the cost for a space in sections B and C is $25.

Students can register for a space in a specially designated section at the heart of Bobcat Bank. Registration for current students will open on Wednesday, March 16 at 8:30 a.m. To reserve a space, visit Haley Sumner, assistant director of campus life, in the Student Affairs office.
