Scholarly and Professional Achievements
I have been an Artist and Educator for over 20 years. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University in Art Education. I have taught all levels of Art and Design but have focused on Higher Education for the past 15 years. I also hold an MFA in Studio Arts. While my artistic training was in Sculpture and Fiber Arts, my work has evolved to include Digital Drawing and Mixed Media.
My teaching philosophy is centered around an Interdisciplinary approach including cross disciplinary and cross cultural examples to expand the view of Art. Students can expect individual instruction and strong conceptual training in my classes.
