Scholarly and Professional Achievements

I am a professional archaeologist studying the early cultures of the Southeastern US. My dissertation research centers on understanding the intricacies of interregional interaction during the Middle Woodland period (200 BC - AD 400) through the design, construction, and layout of monumental architecture and ceremonial objects. I also study archaeoastronomy—how cultures of the past understood and implemented knowledge of the sky—and sensory archaeology.

I have won awards through and served on committees for the Southeastern Archaeological Conference and the Society for American Archaeology.
