Professional Achievements

I've been a manager for almost 25 years, the last 20 of which have been in banking. Most recently I managed Fifth Third Bank here in Banner Elk. I have served on various public service boards, clubs and committees including Rotary, Kiwanis, Enhance Banner Elk, the Banner Elk and Avery County Chambers of Commerce and others.

Institutional Service and Responsibilities

As Major Gifts Officer for the Office of Advancement, I work for youthe students, faculty and staff of Lees-McRae College to advance our mission and vision by building relationships with others who would share in that mission and vision. I work collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other development and advancement staff, and other College representatives to cultivate and solicit donors for College-wide priorities. I also manage relationships with all of our donors and am expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these very important alumnae and friends of Lees-McRae.

Personal Interests

I am dedicated to my family which includes my beautiful wife Susan and our four year old son Saunders, as well as my oldest daughter Lindsey who is in the last year of a doctorate program at Princeton University and middle son Philip who recently graduated from the FBI academy in Quantico VA and will be an agent in Dallas TX. I love the outdoors; there is nowhere on earth like our NC mountains! I love music and books and when I'm not with Susan and Saunders ( which is rare!), you'll find me with my nose in a book or listening to my sweet vinyl collection.
