DVM, NC State University
BS in Zoology, NC State University
Scholarly and Professional Achievements
I received a BS in Zoology at NC State University in 2005 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine also from NC State University in 2011. After finishing vet school, I completed a one-year wildlife internship at Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. I then returned to North Carolina to start a mobile exotic animal practice, Uncommon Creatures Mobile Veterinary Services (UCMVS), that specialized in veterinary care of all critters not dog, cat, or horse. During that time I became the contract veterinarian for the Greensboro Science Center (GSC), Discovery Place, and the SeaLife Aquarium Charlotte/Concord. In 2018, I accepted the first full-time position as Vice President of Animal Health at GSC and closed down UCMVS. I joined the team at Lees-McRae in June of 2023 and I'm excited to expand the education and conservation medicine components of my career.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Jess, son Oliver, and three dogs Kuma, Augie, and Boogs hiking, camping, creeking, and consuming only the best cinema.
