Parent and Family Weekend

September 16–18, 2022

Parents and families, this weekend is for you! Join us on campus for some fun-filled quality time with your student. Spend the weekend exploring Banner Elk and familiarizing yourself with your student's home away from home!

The cost to attend is $30 per family. Please register below.

Just in time for holiday cards or as a memento of the weekend, gather your family for a professional photo opportunity. Rain location will be King-Shivell Lounge in the Cannon Student Center.

Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket for a family movie night! Popcorn, candy, and drinks will be provided. Rain location will be Evans Auditorium in the Cannon Student Center.

Enjoy a lovely day in the High Country! Attend a local religious service (times listed below), stop by The Exchange Bookstore, or enjoy the scenery and fishing at Wildcat Lake.

Coming to town early?

Those who happen to be nearby Thursday evening are invited to attend the Community Picnic, a special event hosted by Lees-McRae to thank the town of Banner Elk for their continual support. The picnic will start at 5 p.m. at South Campus and feature live music, inflatables for the kids, and food for purchase from local food trucks.
