Lees-McRae’s Communication Arts and Design program to host student artwork exhibit for senior exit show

April 23, 2015

The Communication Arts and Design program at Lees-McRae College is proud to host an exhibit of student artwork titled “The Shop” as part of the program’s senior exit show. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Wednesday, April 29 from 6-7 p.m. in King-Shivell Gallery located in the Cannon Student Center. Senior presentations will begin at 7 p.m. in the adjacent Evans Auditorium.

This will be the first time that all Communication Arts and Design seniors will exhibit together in one cohesive show. The exhibit will feature several types of art including photography, filmmaking, branding, graphic design, architectural design and painting. Many students have created online stores to sell their creations as part of their senior exit theses.

“It should be quite a powerful performance with a strong emphasis on creativity, design and marketing” said Jason Sabbides, assistant professor of Communication Arts and Design and manager of King-Shivell Gallery.

“As a graduating Communication Arts student, I am truly blessed,” said student Kyle Bryan ’15. “Not only has my interest transformed into purpose but my professors have transformed into friends.”

Eleven seniors will be graduating this May from the Communication Arts and Design program.
