Lees-McRae defeats Berry by almost 1,000 votes, goes head-to-head against Brevard next
After winning the first bracket of the Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine Top Adventure College contest against Georgia-based Berry College by almost 1,000 votes, Lees-McRae is now in the second round against North Carolina-based Brevard College.
The second round, which lasts until 9 a.m. on Monday, March 27, will determine what school enters the “elite eight.”
The second-to-last round will have the “final four” fighting for the titles of best “small school” and best “large school” from Monday, April 3 until Monday April 10.
The final championship will involve the top “small school”, colleges with less than 5,000 undergraduates, and top “big school”, colleges with more than 5,000 undergraduates, battling for the title of “Top Adventure College.” That round will take place Monday, April 10 until Monday April 17.
Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine initiated the competition five years ago to highlight those colleges and universities with a “commitment to outdoor and environmental initiatives, quality of outdoor athletes and programs and opportunities for adventure,” according to the Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine website.
