Lees-McRae Climbing Club presents Reel Rock 20 at the Appalachian Theatre
The 20th edition of Reel Rock Film Tour, an international platform celebrating the sport and community of climbing through award-winning filmmaking, returns for another year of the Lees-McRae High Country Adventure Film and Speaker Series.
This year’s screening, which will include four all-new films, will be held at the Appalachian Theatre in Boone at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. Tickets cost $15 and are on sale now. Ticket sales will benefit the Lees-McRae Climbing Club.
This year’s films follow Olympic champion Janja Garnbret as she attempts the legendary Bibliographie climb, Michaela Kiersch as she blazes a trail for women climbers, Ben Mayforth who is redefining adaptive climbing, and Colin Haley as he attempts a solo winter ascent of the Patagonian mountain Cerro Torre.
