Lees-McRae College remains ranked among the top private colleges in North Carolina according to U.S. News & World Report
A new ranking from U.S. News and World Report has placed Lees-McRae College among the best private colleges in North Carolina. The college has landed in the 14th spot on the organization’s new Regional Colleges South Top Private Colleges list, breaking the top 15 along with just five other private North Carolina institutions.
The college also earned the 16th spot on this year’s Best Regional Colleges South list, the 48th spot on this year’s Regional Colleges South Social Mobility list, and the 21st spot on this year's Regional Colleges South Best Value Schools list, three spots above its 24th place ranking in 2026.
“The past year has marked a period of historic growth for the college,” President Lee King said. “The debut of the PEAK Experience, historic giving, new housing projects, and record-breaking enrollment numbers are all examples of the continued institutional excellence that has contributed to another year of impressive rankings from U.S. News and World Report. These initiatives are just the beginning of our college’s bright future.”
