Meet the newest members of the Lees-McRae Alumni Board

The Alumni Board, the governing body of the college’s Alumni Association, has recently welcomed a new group of representatives. All Lees-McRae alumni are part of the Alumni Association, and members of the Alumni Board serve as representatives for the college’s entire alumni community by facilitating college engagement opportunities and maintaining clear communication between alumni and college administrators.

Meet this new cohort of alumni representatives as they begin their tenure on the Lees-McRae Alumni Board.

“The four years I spent at Lees-McRae are some of my happiest memories. Why wouldn’t I want to help be a part of that today?” Rees-Trask said. “I would love to be able to bring my skills and knowledge to the Alumni Board to show all that Lees-McRae has to offer. I want to be able to share my experience at the school to inspire others to be part of the Lees-McRae family.”

Pitman’s current role in operations at an Edward Jones branch gives her a strong organizational and strategic foundation that she looks forward to bringing to the Alumni Board. She has a deep love for Lees-McRae, exemplified by her initial tenure on the Alumni Board directly following graduation, her time serving on the college’s strategic planning committee, and the excitement with which she approaches this latest opportunity.

“Being a teacher for 21 years now, I have developed a joy for speaking to people and helping not only my students, but parents as well as they plan their kids’ futures,” White said. “Driving around the Lees-McRae campus, seeing the changes since I was there, sparked a desire in me to see what might be next.”
