School of Business and Management

A degree focused on business or management prepares students to take on a leadership role in a variety of different industries. Whether you want to start your own company, work for a corporation, or enter the non-profit sphere, you will need a marketable skillset rooted in understanding economics and business strategy. We offer a general Business Administration degree with specializations in Accounting, Finance, and Marketing as well as innovative majors and minors focused on sports and outdoor recreation.

Brigham Classroom

Located at Beech Mountain Ski Resort, the Brigham Classroom is the onsite location for classes in the Outdoor Recreation Management and Ski Industry Business and Instruction programs. Lees-McRae students interested in a career in outdoor recreation will benefit from immediate access to some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the south.
Athletics and Broadcasting

Athletics and Broadcasting

Looking to meld your passions in athletics or sport with your degree you can take with you into your career? Sport Management students learn what it takes to become successful athletic administrators, coaches, personal trainers, and sports media personnel. Students majoring in Sport Management work alongside the sports information director and other athletics staff to manage athletic events and broadcast games, providing hands-on experience that looks great on a resume.

Sullivan Foundation

Lees-McRae partners with the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation to provide experiential learning opportunities for students interested in service, community involvement, and entrepreneurship. Activities sponsored by the Sullivan Foundation include guest speakers, workshops, and retreats.
Wilderness Medicine

Wilderness Certifications

Students who want to work in outdoor environments will have the opportunity to earn numerous certifications, including CPR Basic Life Support, Basic First Aid, and Epinephrine Administration; Wilderness First Aid; Wilderness First Responder; Outdoor Emergency Care; and Leave No Trace Master Educator.
